Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump Replacement
Pump Assembly
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine belt. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt
Power Steering Pump Mounting
3. Pump pulley.
4. Pressure line at pump.
5. Pump retaining bolt.
6. Adapter from pump.
Install or Connect
1. Pump mounting bolts.
Tighten pump mounting bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft-lb.).
2. Adapter to pump.
3. Pressure line at pump.
4. Pump pulley.
5. Serpentine belt.
6. Bleed air from system and inspect for leaks.
