Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Disconnect air tube from strut, Fig. 3.
4. Support lower control arm with suitable jack stand.
5. Remove two strut tower mount nuts.
6. Remove two strut anchor bolts, washers and nuts from knuckle, then the knuckle bracket.
7. Remove strut from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
9. Road Sensing Suspension (RSS), reset RSS module as follows:
a. Ensure TECH 1, or equivalent, scan tool has latest version of chassis application program.
b. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
c. Turn ignition key to ON position, but do not start engine.
