HVAC Control Module Lens Scratched (Replace Lens)

2000-2004 Cadillac DeVille
Condition
Some customers may comment on scratches on the lens of the HVAC control module.
Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE HVAC CONTROL MODULE. The lens is now a serviceable component.
Use the following procedure to replace the HVAC Control Module Lens:
1.
Remove the instrument panel center trim plate.
2.
Move the shifter to L1.
3.
Pull out the radio and disconnect the wiring harness to assist with reinstalling the HVAC control head.
4.
Depress and hold the locking tabs, located on the 4 corners of the HVAC control assembly. Pull the HVAC control away from the instrument
panel.
5.
Depress the side clips to remove the lens from the control head assembly.
6.
Install the new lens.
7.
Install the HVAC control assembly into the instrument panel. Guide the wiring harness in while pushing the HVAC control assembly into the
instrument panel opening in order to engage the retainers.
8.
Reconnect the radio wiring harness and reinstall the radio.
9.
Install the instrument panel trim plate.
