Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel and inflator module (if equipped), as described under Steering and
Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair.
2. Remove lower steering column trim cover.
3. Mount spring compressor J-23653 or equivalent on steering shaft, Fig.8
4. Remove lock plate retaining ring and telescoping wheel components, as equipped, then remove spring compressor.
5. Remove lock plate, canceling cam, upper bearing spring, then upper bearing inner race and seat.
6. Remove multi-function lever.
7. Remove turn signal switch retaining screws, then the switch assembly.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
