BUZZ NOISE BEHIND INSTRUMENT PANEL (REPOSITION THROTTLE PEDAL CABLE)
MODEL:
1994 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD WITH 5.7L ENGINE (VIN P - RPO LT1)
CONDITION:
A driver may comment about a "buzz" noise coming from behind the instrument panel.
This noise may occur only at certain engine rpm and with transmission at either "Park" or at any of the "Drive" ranges.
CAUSE:
The above noise condition may be caused by the throttle pedal cable contacting the intake plenum. The intensity and occurrence of this ground out
condition will vary depending on the amount of contact and other factors such as engine rpm.
CORRECTION:
Due to the varying occurrence of this "buzz" noise, have the vehicle owner demonstrate the condition in which the above noise occurs.
If "buzz" noise is due to the throttle pedal cable grounding out against the intake plenum, perform the following correction.
See Figure.
Reposition throttle pedal cable away from the intake plenum as shown in Figure.
Using "black" wire tie (GM Part No. 11509088 or equivalent), attach throttle pedal cable to cruise control cable at the approximate location shown in
