Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Drain brake fluid from master cylinder and remove left front radiator bracket.
3.
Remove air cleaner intake hose, then the modulator relay cover
4.
Disconnect modulator 12-way connector and ground strap.
5.
Disconnect all brake line connections to the modulator.
6.
Remove modulator mounting nuts, then the modulator from mounting bracket. When removing modulator, do not allow any fluid to leak from
the modulator onto the vehicle's painted surface.
7.
Remove mounting insulators from modulator.
8.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.
Torque modulator to mounting bracket nuts to 8 ft. lbs.
b.
Torque brake lines to modulator fittings to 9 ft. lbs.
c.
Bleed brake system as described under DISC AND DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM/MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/BLEEDING
HYDRAULIC BRAKES.
