Front Door Ajar Circuit
TEST CONDITION:
1.
Vehicle is a 4 door (BCM checks EEPROM).
2.
PCM/ECM Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) datalink is functioning properly (no code B334 set).
FAILURE CONDITION:
1.
Engine running.
2.
Transmission in drive or reverse.
3.
Either front door ajar.
4.
"Front Door Ajar" failure already present.
5.
Either front door still ajar.
ACTION TAKEN:
Display the "Front Door Ajar" message on CCDIC.
The BCM provides system voltage to the front door ajar circuit, and the left hand and right hand front door ajar switches provide two separate paths to
ground. The BCM internally monitors the voltage level at pin 3C12. When the front door ajar circuit is open the BCM will detect system voltage, but if
one or both switches provide a path to ground (either front door is open), the BCM will detect the circuit has been grounded. Once the BCM detects that
all of the failure conditions have been met, it will send the "Front Door Ajar" message to the CCDIC.
