Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

Steering Knuckle Replacement 

Tools Required

J43828 Ball Joint Separator

^

J24319-B Steering Linkage and Tie Rod Puller

^

J28733-B Front/Rear Spindle Remover

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel. 
3. Remove the brake rotor. 
4. Remove the front wheel bearing and hub. 

5. Remove the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle retaining nut.
6. Use J24319-B in order to separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle.

7. Remove the lower ball joint cotter pin (1) and retaining nut (2).
8. Using J43828 separate the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle.
