REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Weatherstrip Replace - Roof Side Rail Auxiliary: Removal Procedure

Tools Required
J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Using a J 38778 remove the front lower retainer (3).
2. Pull the weather-strip (1) away from the flange, working to the rear of the vehicle.
3. From the top of the rear pillar and working down, using a J 38778 remove the retainers then the weather-strip (1).
4. Remove the roof side rail auxiliary weather-strip.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Weatherstrip Replace - Roof Side Rail Auxiliary: Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT:  Remove any adhesive before installing a new weather-strip.

1. Locate the roof side rail auxiliary weather-strip (1) to the upper body door opening flange.
2. Align the lower front retainer into the hole in the windshield pillar.
3. Working to the rear, press the weather-strip (1) onto the flange.
4. Peel the protective strip (2) off the rear of the weather-strip while installing the eight retainers.
5. Secure the weather-strip with the retainers.
6. Install the locating pin in the rear lower overlap joint.
