1. Press the liftgate assist rod onto the upper liftgate assist rod ball stud.
2. Press the liftgate assist rod onto the lower assist rod ball stud.
3. Ensure that both clips are fully seated on the liftgate assist rod.
4. Install the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement  (See: Lighting and Horns/Tail Lamp/Service and Repair) .
5. Close the liftgate.
