Intake Air Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair
Mass Airflow Sensor/Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the mass air flow (MAF) electrical connector.
3. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine
Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the MAF sensor fasteners.
5. Remove the MAF sensor and the MAF sensor seal.
6. Discard the MAF sensor seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the new MAF sensor seal and the MAF sensor.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice) .
2. Install the MAF sensor screws.
Tighten the MAF sensor screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
3. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine
Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair) .
4. Install the MAF electrical connector.
