Subject: Front Passenger Airbag Status Indicator Displays OFF or Switches from ON to OFF With Passenger In Seat (Replace Passenger Presence
System (PPS) Module)

This bulletin is being revised to update the Correction information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-09-41-001A (Section 09 - Restraints).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the front passenger airbag status indicator displays OFF or switches from ON to OFF with a passenger in the seat.
Customers with a smaller body profile and light weight may observe the front passenger airbag status indicator display OFF with a passenger in the seat.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the passenger presence system (PPS) in the right front seat cushion or in the case of a small profile/light weight
customer, a combination of the PPS and passenger front seat cushion.
Correction
Technicians are to diagnose and replace the PPS module in the right front seat. Refer to Supplemental Inflatable Restraints Diagnostic Information and
Procedures and Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement-Front procedure in SI. Also refer to the Passenger Presence System
Programming and Setup and the Passenger Presence System Preload Test procedures in SI for more information.
If this does not correct the customer concern and the customer is of small profile/light weight, engineering is aware of this concern and currently
reviewing the previously published repair. This bulletin will be revised when additional information becomes available.
