Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Battery
Disconnect Caution).
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the Instrument panel lower cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Hatchback) (See: Body and Frame/Interior
Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the HVAC controller retaining screws.
4. Remove the controller by pulling it out to provide clearance for the removal of the cable.
