6. Remove the cap from the power steering gear inlet hose (2). When fluid starts to flow from the hose, cap the hose with your finger. Ensure the
O-ring seal is on the hose and is in good condition.
7. Remove the plug from the steering gear (1). Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear. Tighten the power steering gear inlet
hose fitting to 34 Nm (25 lb ft).
8. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
9. Remove the cover from either the air conditioning compressor or the generator, as applicable.
10. Remove the drain pans.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) for the V6
engine or to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) for the V8 engine.
13. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power Steering/Power
Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair).
