13. Working under the instrument panel, remove the intermediate shaft seal (1) from the dash panel.
14. Remove the intermediate steering shaft and the seal as an assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. If you are replacing the intermediate steering shaft, copy the match marks from the old shaft to the new shaft.
2. Ensure the tilt and telescope lever is in the locked position with the steering column tilted to the highest position and telescoped to the maximum
rearward position.
3. Position the intermediate steering shaft and intermediate shaft seal assembly in the vehicle on the driver's floor.
4. Position the intermediate steering shaft in the dash panel opening.
5. Working under the instrument panel, install the intermediate shaft seal (1) to the dash panel. Apply pressure to the seal in order to engage the 4
tabs.
