9. Working under the vehicle, align the match marks and connect the intermediate steering shaft (1) to the steering gear pinion shaft (3).
10. Apply thread locking adhesive to the steering gear pinion bolt (2). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (See: Steering
Column/Specifications/Fluid Type Specifications).
11. Install the steering gear pinion bolt and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
12. Working under the vehicle, ensure the 4 tabs (1) on the intermediate shaft seal engage the dash panel.
13. Lower the vehicle.
