Exhaust Crossover Pipe: Service and Repair

3100 (VIN M) Exhaust Crossover Pipe

Remove

1. Negative battery cable at battery.
2. Air cleaner assembly.
3. Upper radiator hose from thermostat housing.
4. Coolant by-pass pipe from coolant pump.
5. Position brake master cylinder aside to access heat shield.
6. Exhaust crossover heat shields.
7. Crossover pipe.

Clean
-

Manifold sealing surfaces.

Install

1. Crossover pipe.

Tighten
-

Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lbs. in.).

2. Exhaust crossover heat shield.
3. Master cylinder, refer to Section 5.
4. Coolant bypass to coolant pump.
5. Upper radiator hose to thermostat housing.
6. Air cleaner assembly.
7. Negative battery cable.
