Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

Exhaust Manifold Installation

LEFTHAND

1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Remove coolant fan, then heat shield.
4. Remove exhaust crossover pipe at manifold.
5. Remove exhaust manifold bolts, then exhaust manifold,  Fig. 1.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

RIGHTHAND

1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove exhaust pipe at crossover, then lower vehicle.
5. Remove heatshield, then crossover at manifold.
6. Disconnect accelerator and T.V. cables, then remove bracket.
7. Remove oxygen sensor.
8. Remove exhaust manifold bolts, then exhaust manifold,  Fig. 1.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
