Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution:  Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution  (See: Restraint Systems/Service Precautions/Technician Safety
Information/SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution) .

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling  (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air

Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair) .

2. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side  (See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and

Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair) or Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side  (See: Body and
Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair) .

3. Remove the retaining bolts from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor.
4. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.
