1. Install the gasket (1).

Important: Note the alignment of the pinion shaft and input shaft of the pump. If the shafts do not line up, rotate the input shaft for the
pump. If they are not aligned properly, the pump will not be seated correctly in the differential housing. Also, note the location of the
bolt/stud for the proper installation

2. Install the differential cooler pump (4).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the retaining bolts.

Tighten the differential cooler mounting bolts (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the cooler outlet pipe.
5. Install the cooler inlet pipe.
6. Install the rear mufflers.

For the left rear muffler, refer to Muffler Replacement - Left Side.

For the right rear muffler, refer to Muffler Replacement - Right Side.

7. Fill the differential assembly. Refer to Lubricant Change.
8. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Lower and support the rear of the exhaust system.
3. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
