8. Install the reservoir (2) to the master cylinder (5). Secure the reservoir (2) by driving in the reservoir pin (4) using a drift.
9. Install the master cylinder assembly to the vehicle.
Master Cylinder Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Certain components in the Antilock Brake System (ABS) are not intended to be serviced individually. Attempting to remove or
disconnect certain system components may result in personal injury and/or improper system operation. Only those component with
approved removal and installation procedures should be serviced.
1. Disconnect the negative bakery cable.
2. Clean the reservoir cap.
3. Remove the reservoir cap. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir.
4. Disconnect the fluid level switch electrical connector.
5. Models without ABS: Remove the three brake pipes from the master cylinder (5) by loosening the brake pipe nuts (4).
6. Models with ABS: Remove the two brake pipes (7) from the master cylinder (6) and the proportioning valve (5) by loosening the brake pipe nuts.
7. Plug the open brake pipes in order to prevent the contamination and excessive loss of fluid.
8. Remove two master cylinder mounting nuts and washers.
9. Remove the master cylinder.
10. Remove the gasket from the vacuum booster.
