Backup Light Bulb: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the rear compartment lid.
3. Reposition the rear compartment side trim in order to gain access to the tail lamp retaining nut.
4. Remove the 1 nut which secures the tail lamp (1).
5. Remove the 2 screws which secure the tail lamp (1).
6. Remove the tail lamp (1) From the vehicle by pulling upward and rearward.
7. Remove the socket of the backup lamp bulb (2) From the tail lamp (1).
8. Remove the backup lamp bulb (2) From the socket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the backup lamp bulb (2) to the socket.
2. Install the socket of the backup lamp bulb (2) to the tail lamp (1).
3. Install the tail lamp (1) to the vehicle. Secure the lamp with 2 screws and the retaining nut.
4. Position the rear compartment side trim back to it's original position.
5. Close the rear compartment lid.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
