Hood Hinge: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Hood Hinge Replacement: Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.
3. Remove the front fender.
4. Mark the position of the hood hinges to ease assembly.
5. Remove the hinge bolts from the hood.
6. Remove the hood hinge (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: When replacing the hood hinge, apply anti-corrosion treatment to the hinge and the body mating surface, and to the hinge and the hood
mating surface. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair in Paint/Coatings.  

Hood Hinge Replacement: Installation Procedure

1. Install the hood hinge (1) to the vehicle, aligning the mating marks. Secure the hinge with the

2 mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the hinge bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

2. Install the front fender.
3. Install the air inlet grille panel.
4. Install the hood.
