Prizm L4-108 1.8L DOHC VIN 8 MFI (1998)
1. Install the transaxle support (6) to the front suspension crossmember (7).
2. Raise and support the front suspension crossmember (7), the trans support (6), the two control arms (8, 9), and the stabilizer shaft (if equipped)
together as a unit with a jack.
3. Secure the transaxle support to the vehicle with 2 bolts (1, 2). Do not torque the bolts.
4. Install the two bolts (3, 4) which secure the front transaxle mount to the transaxle support.
Tighten
Tighten the front transaxle mount bolts to 64 N.m (47 lb ft).
5. Install the engine splash shield bolts (5,10) which secure the two engine splash shields to the transaxle support.
Tighten
Tighten the engine splash shield bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb ft).
6. Install the two studs (3, 7).
Tighten
Tighten the two front suspension crossmember studs to 147 N.m (109 lb in).
