14. Remove two bolts (1) from the inner shift select cable grommet retainer (2). Remove the shift select cable from the vehicle through passenger
compartment side of bulkhead.
15. Inspect the shift select cable for kinks, fraying, or excessive wear. Replace as necessary.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the shift select cable into the bulkhead from the passenger compartment side. Secure with 2 bolts (1) at inner shift select cable grommet
retainer (2).

Tighten the inner shift select cable grommet retainer bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the Powertrain Control Module. Refer to PCM Replacement in Powertrain Management.
3. Install the carpet (2) to the floor under the I/P compartment. Secure the carpet retaining bracket (1).
