INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Inner and outer pads, if removed.

Brake Pad Installation

1. Rear brake pad spring shim.
2. Spring must lay flat within groove at caliper. New inner and outer pads.

Outer pad with insulator is installed toward caliper housing. Inner pad is installed nearest the piston.

Replace inner and outer pads in axle sets only. Rotate caliper housing into its operating position.

3. Springs on inner and outer pads must not stick through inspection hole in caliper housing. If springs are sticking through inspection hole in

caliper housing, lift caliper housing and reposition springs.

Outer pad with insulator is installed toward caliper housing. Inner pad is installed nearest to piston.

2. Caliper housing over rotor and into anchor bracket.
3. New upper caliper guide pin bolt/screw.

Tighten bolt/screw to 31 Nm (23 lb.ft.)

4. New lower caliper guide pin bolt/screw, if removed.

^

Tighten bolt/screw to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).

5. Brake hose fitting, two new gaskets and brake hose fitting bolt/screw, if removed.

Tighten brake hose fitting bolt/screw to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

6. Bleed brake hydraulic system, if brake hose fitting was removed. 
7. Tire and wheel.

Remove wheel nuts securing rotor.

8. Lower vehicle.
9. With engine running, pump brake pedal slowly and firmly three times to seat inner and outer pads.

10. Check brake hydraulic system for leaks.
