Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove four bolts and the front skid plate from the vehicle (if equipped).
3. Remove the front differential assembly from the chassis (four wheel drive vehicles).
4. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
5. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
6. Place a drain pan beneath the engine oil pan to catch escaping oil.
7. Remove the engine oil drain plug (2) and gasket allowing the engine oil to drain.
8. Remove the transmission left side stiffener bracket (2).
9. Remove the two bolts (four speed automatic transmission models).
10. Remove the clutch housing lower plate (1) for manual transmission equipped vehicles.
11. Remove the torque converter housing lower plate for automatic transmission equipped vehicles.
12. Remove the following from the cylinder block (1):

Sixteen bolts
^
Two nuts
^
The engine oil pan
