Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to Fuel Pressure Release.
3. Remove the fuel pulsation damper (1) from the fuel rail (2). Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel.
Installation Procedure
1. Apply a thin coat of oil to the new gasket.
2. Install the fuel pulsation damper with the new gasket to the fuel rail. Use a backup wrench and tighten damper to 25 - 35 Nm (18.5 - 25 lb ft).
3. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
4. Turn OFF the ignition.
5. Check for any fuel leaks and repair as necessary.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
