Tracker 4WD L4-1.6L VIN 6 (1998)
1. Install the sliding yoke (2) into the transmission or transfer case (3).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the pinion flange yoke (4) to the differential pinion flange (3) aligning index marks (reference marks) (2) on the pinion flange yoke (4) and
differential pinion flange (3). Secure the pinion flange yoke (4) with four bolts and four nuts.

Tighten the propeller shaft bolts and nuts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, apply GM P/N 12346004, or equivalent, to the threaded portion of the transfer case drain plug.
3. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, install the transfer case drain plug into the transfer case.

Tighten the transfer case drain plug to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
4. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, refill the transfer case with approximately 1.7 (1.8 quarts) of 75W90 GL4 synthetic lubricant GM
P/N 12346190, or equivalent.
5. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, apply GM P/N 12346004, or equivalent, to the threaded portion of the transfer case oil level filler
plug.
6. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, install the transfer case oil level/filler plug into the transfer case.

Tighten the transfer case oil level/filler plug to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
7. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case, remove the drain pan from underneath the transfer case.
8. Lower the vehicle.
