Alignment: Service and Repair
Turning Angle Adjustment

1. Loosen the steering gear boot outer clamp.
2. Measure the length of the right inner tie rod and the right outer tie rod.
3. Measure the length of the left inner tie rod (1) and the left outer tie rod (4).
4. Compare the two lengths. If the lengths are not equal, loosen the tie rod end lock nuts and rotate the tie rods in order to equalize the length of the

tie rods.

5. Adjust the toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment.

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Tighten the tie rod end lock nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 65 Nm (47 ft. lbs.). 

7. Ensure the steering gear boots are not twisted.
8. Tighten the steering gear boot outer clamp.
