4. Remove the rear floor carpet (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the rear floor carpet (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the rear floor rear trim plate. Refer to Rear Floor Rear Trim Plate Replacement  (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Rear Floor Rear Trim

Plate Replacement) .

3. Install the rear floor carpet (1) to the rear seat back cushions. Secure the carpet with the 6 plastic retainers.
4. Return the rear seat back cushions to the upright position.

Floor Pan Insulator Replacement

Floor Pan Insulator Replacement

Floor pan insulators are designed for higher floor pan temperatures that result from the use of the catalytic converter in the exhaust system. Floor pan
insulators act as silencers and help reduce the exterior noise level within the passenger compartment. When servicing a vehicle in the field, reinstall any
insulator that may have been removed from the original sequence or location. If you need to replace the insulator, use the material specified for that
particular location on the floor pan. Perform the following steps for installation:

Caution:  All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury
and/or vehicle damage.

Install the insulators (2) in the original position or sequence. Butt the sheets together in order to avoid gapping or overlapping.

When installing a floor pan insulator, do NOT enlarge the cut-outs or the holes used for the attachment of interior components, such as seats or
seat belts.

Route the cross-body harnesses for the interior components over the floor pan insulator into the original position. Clip the harnesses into place.

*

Spray on deadeners and trim adhesives should not be applied to the top of the floor pan at the area directly over the catalytic converter or the
muffler.
