5. Install the side plate (1) to the pump body. Carefully align the dowel pins on the side plate with the bolt hole (2).
6. Apply DEXRON(R) - III Automatic Transmission Fluid, GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, to the sliding surface of the rotor (2).
7. Place the rotor with the dot (1) side facing upward. Install the rotor to the shaft (3).
Important: Do not reuse old snap rings.
8. Install a new snap ring to the shaft (3), fitting the snap ring securely into the shaft groove.
9. Apply DEXRON(R) - III Automatic Transmission Fluid, GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, to the sliding surface of the cam ring (1).
10. Install the cam ring to the pump body. Place the tapered end of the cam ring facing the side plate (2).
