Using the side of a 1/8" drill bit or small rotary file and an electric drill, enlarge the hole in the instrument panel to approximately 1" in diameter
(see Figures). This will prevent the speedometer cable and instrument panel from amplifying speedometer cable noise.

NOTE:

IF A REAMER IS USED TO ENLARGE THE HOLE, CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN THAT THE REAMER DOES NOT SLIDE OFF
CENTER WHILE DRILLING.
