Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: If replacing parking brake shoes on both sides of vehicle, perform STEP 1 through STEP 13 on each side of the vehicle to complete shoe
set installation, then proceed to STEP 14.
1. Install the front brake shoe (1) on the adapter. Insert the hold-down pin (3) (from the rear) through the shoe and install the hold-down clip (2)
securing the shoe in place. Position the clip as shown to avoid contact with other components.
2. Attach the upper shoe return spring (1) on the two shoes. Pull the rear brake shoe (2) over the anchor block until it is properly located on the
adapter. Make sure the parking brake actuator lever is properly installed between the front and rear shoes.
