(drill bit or locking pin) (3) can be inserted sufficiently through the hole in the left side of the lever mounting bracket. This will lock the parking
brake automatic adjustment mechanism in place and take tension off the parking brake cables. Slowly release the output cable. There should now
be slack in the cables.
6. Remove the rear parking brake cables (3) from the parking brake cable equalizer (2).
7. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle.
8. Fold the rear carpeting forward (1) to expose the parking brake cables (4) at the end of the rear floor.
9. Install the box end of a 1/2 inch (13 mm) wrench (2) over the retainer for either the right (3) or left (5) parking brake cable. Push the wrench onto
the retainer until the retainer fingers are collapsed. From under the carpeting, grasp the parking brake cable housing and pull cable straight out of
the bracket attached to the floor.
