16. Install the roll pin securing the intermediate shaft to the steering gear pinion shaft as follows:
a. Start the roll pin into the intermediate shaft coupler.
b. Install the Remover/Installer Special Tool 6831 A through the center of the roll pin, securing it with the knurled nut (Figure 6).
c. Hold the threaded rod stationary while turning the nut, pulling the roll pin into the intermediate shaft coupler. Stop when the pin is centered in
the coupler. Do not over-install the roll pin.
17. Install the dash seal cover down over the intermediate shaft coupler (Figure 5). Install the mounting screws securing the dash seal cover to the
lower dash panel.
18. Move the carpet back into place around the dash seal cover.
19. Remove the steering wheel holding tool.
20. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
21. Inspect the system for leaks.
22. Check and adjust front toe to specifications.
