Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
CAUTION: The fuel system is under pressure. To avoid fuel spillage and the risk of personal injury or fire, it is necessary to relieve the fuel system
pressure before disconnecting the fuel lines.
1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to "Fuel Pump".
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
NOTE: Use a backup wrench when removing or installing the fuel lines, Damage to the fuel rail can occur if two wrenches are not used.
3. Remove the fuel return line using two wrenches.
4. Remove the retaining screw.
5. Remove the fuel pressure regulator by turning it back and forth and then pulling it out.
6. Discard the O-ring.
