Some customers may express concern regarding evidence of tires rubbing other components. Such rubbing may occur during infrequent driving
conditions such as severe full left or right turn, heavy braking in a full turn, or when the vehicle is fully loaded.
Evidence of tire rubbing may be seen inside the wheel house, on the transaxle case cover, or on the lower control arms, depending on car model and tire
size. The surfaces contacted by the tires are considered friendly surfaces (smooth and not abrasive), which do not affect the service life of the tire. Since
this condition causes no damage and only occurs during extreme and infrequent driving conditions, no attempt should be made to repair.
Customers should also be reminded that replacement tires should be of the same size and load rating as specified in the Owners Manual to maintain the
specified tire operating clearances and the ride and handling characteristics of our cars.
