If there is a gap between the engine mount outer metal and insulator, see Fig. 1, replace the front engine insulator assembly. NOTE: THIS NOISE
IS MORE NOTICEABLE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
MANUAL TRANSAXLE:
1.
Raise the vehicle with an assistant inside of the vehicle.
2.
Start the vehicle and observe the front engine mount, while the assistant shifts from neutral to first gear and neutral to reverse while releasing the
clutch slightly.
3.
If there is a gap between the outer metal and insulator, see Fig. 1, replace the front engine insulator assembly.
NOTE: THIS NOISE IS MORE NOTICEABLE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves replacement of either the left or front engine mount with a revised mount.
1.
Refer to the appropriate Service Manual for replacement procedures.
2.
Replace the appropriate mount with the mount called out in PARTS REQUIRED.
