Interior Dome Lamps Will Not Operate

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Interior dome lamps will not operate when dash switch is actuated or when doors are opened. This condition may be caused by corrosion at the M2
splice.
DIAGNOSIS:
There are two courtesy lamp systems, one with a diode pack and one without a diode pack. The diode pack allows different lamps to come on when
different doors open. The diode pack is on most vehicles, but is not on some lower line vehicles. The diagnosis will identify how the systems differ.
The chart shows which lamps come on with a failed (open) M2 splice. If the courtesy lamps operate (per chart), perform the repair procedure. If no
lamps come on or the condition is with only one switch or lamp, this Technical Service Bulletin does not apply.
NOTE:
THE REAR OVERHEAD CONSOLE LAMPS REPLACE THE FRONT DOME LAMP ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH OVERHEAD
CONSOLES.
