REPAIR PROCEDURE

The secondary seal retainer (Figure 1) must be deflected downward. Deflecting the retainer downward will provide the additional clearance needed for
smooth door operation and proper seal contact.

1.

Remove secondary seal along the "A" pillar.

2.

Using a 2" x 2" x 7" block of hardwood and a mallet, deflect the secondary seal retainer downward, 0.050-0.100", in the areas that were marked in
diagnosis. See Figure 1 for block-to-retainer position. Avoid damage to paint and sealer on and along the secondary retainer. Also, avoid sharp
step offs in the retainer along the "A" pillar.

Reinstall the secondary seal along the "A" pillar.

Close the door slowly, and observe that the secondary seal clears the door edge along the "A" pillar. If there still is scrubbing, repeat Step 2 until
no scrubbing occurs.
