1. Remove lock pin from transaxle selector shaft housing.
2. Reverse lock pin so long end is down, and insert lock pin into same threaded hole while pushing selector shaft in 1--2 neutral position.
3. Remove gearshift knob, retaining nut and pull-up ring.
4. On all models except Daytona and Laser, remove console attaching screws and console.
5. On Daytona and Laser models, remove console as follows:

a.  Remove front seat assemblies.
b.  Remove 2 forward console bezel attaching screws and bezel.
c.  Remove carpet retaining clips from console.
d.  Remove console attaching bolts and screws.
e.  Disconnect electrical connectors from console, then remove console, then remove console from vehicle.

6. On all models, fabricate 2 cable adjusting pins as shown.
