Tie Rod End: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the cotter pins and nuts at the steering knuckle.

2. Separate the tie rod ball stud from the knuckle with Remover MB-991113, or equivalent.
3. Loosen the jam nut and unthread the tie rod end from the tie rod.

INSTALLATION 

1. Thread the tie rod end onto the tie rod, to it's original position.
2. Install the tie rod ball stud to the steering knuckle.
3. Tighten the ball stud nut on the steering knuckle to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.). Install new cotter pin.
4. Tighten jam nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
5. Set wheel toe pattern. See: Alignment
