The customer may experience any of the following:
The Technician may discover that P0128 - Thermostat Rationality DTC is present
This DTC is a two trip code and is matured if a significant difference exists between the PCM predicted and actual engine coolant temperature during
The PCM calibration may improperly mature a P0128 DTC because the airflow across the coolant temperature sensor during colder ambient
temperatures, 50° F (10° C) or below causes the predicted coolant temperature to deviate from the actual coolant temperature.
Long Crank Times
Long crank times could be experienced when the coolant temperature is less than 131° F (55° C) and the engine has been shut off for 7 minutes or less.
Updating the PCM software will correct the conditions listed above.
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH(TM)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine and transmission systems
