Brake Pad: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

NOTE:  If brake shoes are to be replaced, remove 1/4 of the fluid from master cylinder with suction gun.

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.

Retainer Clips And Anti-Rattle Springs

3. Remove caliper mounting bolts, retaining clips and anti-rattle springs.
4. Remove caliper by tilting it rearward and lifting up and off rotor.

Removing Outboard Brakeshoe

5. Remove outboard brake shoe from caliper. Use pry tool to remove shoe from caliper if flanges are tight.
