13. Maneuver the regulator by hand to disengage the drive arm from the glass lift channel.
14. Pull the glass to the full up position and use tape to hold it in place.
15. Move the glass run as necessary to move the motor past the glass run. Remove the regulator from the door.
16. Proceed with the Bench Repair procedure as described to service only the motor or the regulator.

Bench Repair

REMOVAL

If the entire motor and regulator assembly is not being replaced, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the regulator and motor unit as described.

WARNING:  STEP 2 AND STEP 3 ARE VERY IMPORTANT. IF NOT PERFORMED BEFORE MOTOR REMOVAL, INJURY MAY
RESULT.  

2. Secure the regulator in a vise to prevent the sector gear from rotating.

3. Remove the counterbalance spring. This must be done for safety before removing the motor.
4. Remove the three screws that secure the motor and gearbox to the regulator and separate.
5. Inspect the regulator and the motor and gear. box for:

-

The sector gear teeth must not be broken or severely worn.

-

All screws and sliders must be securely attached.

-

Parts must not be bent or cracked.

-

The sector gear must rotate freely

-

Test the power window motor as described.

6. Install the motor to the regulator and secure with three screws.
7. Install the counterbalance spring.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the regulator in the door. Remove the tape securing the glass and install the drive arm slider to the glass lift channel.
2. Align the regulator mounting holes to the door inner panel. Be certain that the door switch wire harness is positioned between the regulator and the

door inner panel.

3. Secure the regulator to the door inner panel using M6-1.O0 x 11 mm screws tightened to 10 Nm (90 in lb). Install one screw to hold the regulator

in place.

4. Plug in the motor wire harness connector.
5. Install the remaining screws that secure the regulator to the door inner panel.
6. Install the screw that secures the front glass run to the inner door panel.
7. Reverse the remaining removal procedures to complete the installation.
