Drive Belt: Adjustments

Fig. 23 Adjusting drive belt tension

1.

Remove spark plugs, then rotate crankshaft to TDC position.

2.

Using a suitable tool, loosen tensioner locknut, Fig. 23.

3.

Reset tension so that belt tensioning tool's axis is within 15° of horizontal.

4.

Rotate crankshaft two revolutions in a clockwise direction and position at TDC, then tighten tensioner locknut.
