REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove nuts, bolts and retainers at the control arms.
3. Remove crossmember clamp attaching bolts, then the crossmember clamps.
4. Remove sway bar from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
A linkless sway bar is used in the front suspension. The sway bar is nearly symmetric looking, and it is possible to install the sway bar improperly in
the vehicle when it is removed for service. Always mark the sway bar prior to removal to ensure proper installation. Sway bars used for production
and service replacement are marked on the left (driver side) by a daub or stripe of paint.
1. Position crossmember bushings on the bar with the curved surface up and split to front of vehicle.
2. Position bar assembly onto crossmember, then install clamps and attaching bolts.
3. Position retainers at control arms, then install bolts and attaching nuts.
4. Raise lower control arm to correct position, then torque attaching bolts to 25 ft. lbs. for 1984 models, or 22 ft. lbs. for 1982 - 83 models. A
bushing retainer is not used on 1984 models.
