MANUALLY CONTROLLED HEATER
The assembly shown in the figure below is the main component of the air conditioning system and differs from the system described previously only because shroud (1) is a different shape in order to accommodate evaporator (6).
The air intake flap (3) of the fan assembly is also no longer controlled by cable operated by a cursor but by a link and two levers.
The electric actuator operates for a few seconds when activated. This is long enough for the air intake flap to take up the limit positions described previously. It is therefore naturally no longer possible to make them take up the intermediate position which previously allowed intake fan (4) to take in both outside air and air from inside the passenger compartment.
The heating/ventilation system control panel differs from the system panel only in that the cursor has been replaced by two keys with integral warning light.
The left hand key is used to operate the air intake flap electric control actuator, i.e. it effectively selects type of air taken in by fan (outside or recirculation).
The second key (on the right) is used to activate the air conditioning system or supply the compressor pulley electromagnetic coupling.
