PASSIVE SAFETY

Where the bodyshell of the Punto Cabrio differs from the saloon it still has the same objectives, in particular the safety of passengers in the case of impacts.

The variants refer above all to the floor panel in the rear section, the side members and the front pillars. These specific reinforcements are due to the need of replacements because of the lack of a roof and pillars and to keep the survival chamber intact.

The Cabrio version has passed the crushing test, in accordance with the strictest international regulations, with flying colours thanks to the front pillar reinforced with a special large tubular element (∅ 36 mm; thickness 4 mm) made from a highly resistant material.
